The Scale of Textile Industry in Jiangsu Province Ranks Eighth in China

The textile industry is the traditional pillar industry of China's national economy and an important civilian production industry. It is also an industry with obvious international competitive advantages. It plays an important role in prospering the market, expanding exports, attracting employment, increasing farmers' income, and promoting urbanization.

For a period of time, for textile provinces such as Jiangsu and Zhejiang, which have the main business income of more than CNY 1 trillion, Jiangxi textile industry is hard to beat for them. Even in Jiangxi province, compared with the steel industry, petrochemical industry, etc., the textile industry still can not be called the pillar industry.

In order to speed up the pace of upgrading of traditional industries in Jiangxi Province, and guide the intelligent transformation of textile and garment enterprises in Jiangxi Province, at the end of 2018, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jiangxi Province held the promotion meeting of the intelligent transformation of the textile and garment industry in the province. It was pointed out that intelligent manufacturing is the most advanced manufacturing system at present, and it is the general trend and direction of the optimization and upgrading of the textile and garment industry. Enterprises must recognize this general trend, and learn advanced experience from the leading benchmarks in the industry. However, because of the wide range of intelligent manufacturing, and it is a brand-new system, enterprises must objectively analyze their own strengths and weaknesses and find the best transformation path based on their own situation. And the Local departments should strengthen planning guidance and policy support, help enterprises solve practical problems, promote advanced experience, so as to create a good environment for enterprises to carry out the intelligent transformation, and jointly promote industrial optimization and upgrading.

A series of measures have made Jiangxi's textile industry rank eighth in the country and established an industrial system with a complete and unique industrial chain. At present, the entire industry in Jiangxi province has formed 9 provincial-level industrial bases, including Gongqingcheng down garment base, Qingshan Lake knitwear base, Fengxin textiles base, Fenyi ramie textiles base, Yudu apparel base, Nankang suit trousers base, Ruichang textiles base, Xinzhou ramie textiles base and Dean textile and apparel base. Among them, the first five bases have successfully promoted to the national industry base for textile and apparel.

From January to June this year, the nine industrial bases of the textile and garment industry in Jiangxi province operated steadily. Among them, the textile and garment enterprises above designated size in Qingshan Lake District achieved a revenue of CNY 10.5 billion from the main business, seeing a year-on-year increase of 8.5% year-on-year; that of in Fengxin county totaled CNY 3.76 billion, up 10.6% year-on-year; Yudu county was CNY 3.29 billion, grew by 17.5% year-on-year.

2019 Plans to Pass the CNY 320 Billion Mark

Traditional industries account for about 70% of the industrial sector in Jiangxi province and are important pillars of the real economy. Promoting the optimization and upgrading of traditional industries is an urgent requirement for deepening the structural reform of the supply side, accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system, and promoting the high-quality development of the industry. Jiangxi Province introduced the optimization and upgrading plan for the textile industry in 2018, so as to accelerate the transformation of the textile industry to high value-added and branded operations. And Jiangxi province strives to let the main business of enterprises above designated size achieve CNY 320 billion by 2020.

In accordance with the industrial optimization and upgrading program, Jiangxi province will accelerate the establishment of the technology innovation system for textile industry, promote the leading enterprises to establish technology centers, promote the research and application of advanced technologies. At the same time, Jiangxi province encourages garment enterprises to develop personalized customization services via new production methods.

Jiangxi province will also take the apparel and home textiles as a breakthrough, vigorously promote the creation of independent brands, promote the development of national brands to the world-famous brands, and encourage small and medium-sized enterprises to develop their own brands. And relying on industrial clusters, to create a number of regional brands, to achieve the transition from "order processing" to "brand management".
