According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in December 2018, China's yarn output was 2.66 million tons, down 2.7% year-on-year; and China's totaled yarn output reached 29.76 million tons in 2018, declined by 0.2% compared with 2017. In 2017, China's yarn output was 40.5 million tons, and the gap between 2017 and 2018 was 10.68 million tons. It is reported that the reason for the decline may be related to the change in statistical caliber and the decline in chemical fiber production.
