The economic operation of garment industry in Jan.-June is as follows:

Production

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, the garment production of enterprises above designated size in garment industry totaled 10.99 billion pieces, declining by 7.23% year-on-year.

Domestic sales

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, the total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to CNY 18 trillion, surged by 9.4% year-on-year. Thereinto, the retail sales of clothing, foot & head wear and knitted goods by major retailers above designated size was CNY 479.2 billion, edged up 10.1% year-on-year.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, China's online retail sales was CNY 3.12 trillion, growing by 29.8% year-on-year. In the online retail sales of physical commodities, wearing goods increased by 24.1% year-on-year.

Export

According to the Customs Newsletters, from January to June, China's garment and accessories exports totaled US$ 69.19 billion, down 2% year-on-year.

Investment

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, the actual investment of China's garment industry decreased by 5.7% compared with the same period of 2017.

Benefit

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, the main business income of textile enterprises above designated size totaled about CNY 901.91 billion, with year-on-year growth of 3.89%; the total profit was CNY 47.98 billion, up by 0.84% year-on-year; the margin of sales was 5.32%, down 0.16 percentage points compared with the same period in 2017; the gross profit margin was 14.43%, declined by 0.26 percentage points year-on-year; the share of three overheads in turnover was 9.08%, up 0.12 percentage points year-on-year.
