Industrial Value-added of China's Textile Industry down 0.1% in H1, 2018

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in June, China's value-added industrial output above designated size actually increased by 6.0% year-on-year (the growth rate hereinafter refers to price-adjusted actual growth rate), down 0.8 percentage point from May. It edged up 0.36% from the previous month. And it rose by 6.7% in January-June. Its growth rate declined 0.2 percentage point compared with January-May period. By region, in June, the value-added industrial output grew 4.1% year-on-year in eastern regions, 7.5% in the central regions, 7.0% in the western regions and 5.9% in the northeast.


Industrial output, officially called industrial value added, is used to measure the activity of certain large enterprises with annual turnover of at least CNY 20 million (about US$ 2.9 million).


By product, in June, the production of 303 out of 596 kinds of products increased year-on-year. In June, the textile industry's value-added output decreased by 0.1%, while it increased by 1.1% in January-June period. In the output of main products, the output of fabric declined 1.8% year-on-year to 4.8 billion meters in June and increased by 2.0% to 26.7 billion meters in January-June, while the output of chemical fibers surged 12.6% to 4.71 million tons in June and rose 8.4% to 24.61 million tons in January- June.


And the sales-output ratio of industrial enterprises was 97.8%, down 0.9 percentage point from the same period of last year.
