China's Imports of Textiles and Garment Edge up 1.98% in May

Related data show that China imported US$ 19.7 billion worth of textiles and garment in May, up 1.98% year-on-year and 12.46% month-on-month. The import of textile yarn, fabric and made-up goods amounted to US$ 1.45 billion, down 1.34% from a year earlier, but up 7.09% over the previous month; the import of garment and accessories amounted to US$ 522 million, up 12.52% year-on-year and 30.66% month-on-month.


In the first five months of this year, China's imports of textiles and garment totaled near US$ 9.38 billion, up 2.40% year-on-year. The import of textile yarn, fabric and made-up goods totaled about US$ 6.85 billion, up 2.48% year-on-year; the import of garment and accessories amounted to US$ 2.53 billion, up 2.19%.
