SPINEXPOTM has become the leading industry sourcing exhibition dedicated to promoting innovation in yarns, fibres and knitwear since its inception 15 years ago in Shanghai, China. Organised and curated by a team of international textile specialists, the Shanghai based exhibition will present its 30th Edition from 29th to 31st August 2017, at the Shanghai World Expo convention &exhibition centre, Pudong, showcasing 200+ specially selected companies.
SPINEXPOTM has been an ongoing catalyst for the textile and fashion industry, attracting top-level international buyers to Asia, whilst accompanying the growth of Asia’s fashion brands looking for innovative products.
The show continues to be a driving force in moving suppliers and buyers forward, urging them to bring fresh and new ideas in design, innovation & technical application. The Shanghai trade show caters for a growing mid-end domestic market and international brands manufacturing in Asia.
The season kicksoff in France on the 3rd to 5th of July 2017 with the launch of SPINEXPOTM Paris 2nd Edition held at Cité de la Mode, Paris central. The show days have been extended due to high demand from the exhibitors and visitors to three days instead of the previous two-day show for the first session. Products fromleading top-level international exhibitors including 85 spinning mills, knitwear and machine manufactures as well as the addition of swatch studios will all be on offer at the show. SPINEXPOTM provides an innovation platform, a think tank of ideas, a place where exhibitors who push the boundaries of innovation and high quality all compete under one roof and present a broad spectrum of yarns and fibres for woven, knitwear and active wear, covering both flat bed and circular knitwear. Exhibitors continuously strive for perfection within their products whilst also adapting to the changing market and needs of the industry. Being able to serve brands that focus on quality rather than quantity, are able to offer streamlined service, provide creative inspiration and direction as well as offer forward innovation.
The season continues 15 days later with SPINEXPOTM New York, now in its 9th edition and held at the Brooklyn Expo Centre, Greenpoint, New York on 18th to 20th of July 2017. The exhibition features 77 leading exhibitors, similar to those in Paris and is a B-to-B trade show attracting the key influential brands from New York and the American markets. Exhibitors will be showcasing a wide offer of innovative products with a focus on performance & functionality as well as new spinning and knitting techniques across core and fancy items as diversification is key in today’s market. A special focus is placed on offering a wider range of products with stock service, shorter lead times and faster delivery times.
Our trend areas this season showcase the latest research and development from our SPINACTIVE component. Merino’s, Coolmax and compression are all driving factors in the presentation by Eva De Laat in collaboration with SantoniShanghai; we see the focus on body engineering in stretch versus rigidity in compression and an urban active approach to merino.
With our pursuit to showcase machinery, technology and innovative products we see a refreshing capsule from Steven Oo that focuses on the developments within Whole garment technology and its advantages within the market at a time when labour costs increase and the industry pushes towards greater automation.
Whole garment technology is currently widely used in creating classic silhouettes, with an innovative question of; ‘how can this machinery also push the boundaries of three dimensional knitting?’
Our focus within SPINEXPLORE this season captures five stories that are inspired by a new wave of emerging energy in our world today, with refreshing colour palettes, new spinning techniques, yarn compositions and innovative stitch collections that bring refined sophistication.
