China's Textile and Garment Exports up 3.61% in April

In April of this year, China's exports of textiles and garment amounted to about US$ 21.61 billion, up 3.61% year-on-year, the statistics of the General Administration of Customs showed.

The export of textile yarn, fabric and made-up goods amounted to US$ 9.81 billion, up 1.56% year-on-year and 7.88% month-on-month; the export of garment and accessories amounted to US$ 11.79 billion, up 5.37% year-on-year and 8.03% month-on-month.

In the first four months of 2017, China's exports of textiles and garment totaled US$ 76.51 billion, down 1.28% from a year earlier. The export of textiles declined moderately by 0.11% to US$ 33.08 billion, while the export of garment dropped by 2.15% to about US$ 43.43 billion.

Based on 2016/17 cotton year, by April of 2017, China had exported US$ 165.79 billion worth of textiles and garment, down 6.33% from a year earlier. The export of textiles amounted to US$ 67.59 billion, down 4.15% year-on-year, while the export of garment amounted to US$ 98.20 billion, down 7.78%.
