Figures recently released by the General Administration of Customs show that the retail sales of clothing, footwear, hats and knitted goods of retailers above designated size totaled CNY 882.7 billion in the first eight months of this year, up 7.2% year-on-year; the retail sales in August amounted to CNY 100.2 billion, up 6.2% year-on-year.
