According to the General Administration of Customs, China imported 95,000 tons of cotton in July, up 22,000 tons or 31% over the previous month, but down 10,000 tons or 10% compared to the 105,000-ton import in last July.

In the first seven months of this year, China’s import of cotton totaled 525,000 tons, down 51% year-on-year. From September 2015 to July 2016, China’s import of cotton totaled 890,000 tons, down 700,000 tons or 44% from a year earlier.
