According to the General Administration of Customs, China imported about 190,500 tons of cotton yarn in March 2016, down 23.35% from a year earlier, but up 64.32% over the previous month; meanwhile, it exported about 30,900 tons of cotton yarn, up 4.76% year-on-year and 64.36% month-on-month.
From September 2015 to March 2016, China's import of cotton yarn totaled near 1.21 million tons, down 7.79% from a year earlier.
In the first quarter of this year, China's import of cotton yarn dropped by 20.75% year-on-year to 468,000 tons.
