In the first seven months of this year, due to big cotton price gap between at home and abroad, the textile industry in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region grew slowly and most textile enterprises operated in deficit. But under the guidance of government policy, many provinces and cities outside Xinjiang, especially Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces have increased their investment in Xinjiang and set up more than 70 projects concerning wastewater disposal, standard workshop construction, infrastructure construction of industrial parks, occupational training, etc. The investment in textile industry totaled CNY 3.29 billion in January-July period, up 37.88% year-on-year.
