On Sept. 2, the chemical fiber industry held a conference on initiating corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, indicating the industry has put CSR on top of its task list.

Under the background that it is necessary for enterprises to improve their capability in social responsibility management and communications during the process of "investing abroad" and introduce the concept of information disclosure and public participation in management in their energy-saving and discharge-reduction campaign, and in order to forge responsible brand, improve the image of the industry and display the economic responsibility in industry context, the market responsibility in industry discipline context and the responsibility value of environment protection and safety in enterprise context, China Chemical Fibers Association and the Office for Social Compliance under China National Textile and Apparel Council will join hands in promoting CSR management in the chemical fiber industry, so as to promote standard and institutional CSR management among chemical fiber producers, enhance the communications between the chemical fiber industry and related interest parties, improve the transparency of the supply chain and promote innovation, recycle economy and green consumption of the chemical fiber industry.

About 70 delegated from more than 40 enterprises attended the conference. They discussed jobs and tasks for exercising CSR management, shared techniques and skills for writing CSR report and initiated the work for compiling the "CSR Report of the Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance for Chemical Fiber Regeneration and Circular Economy" and drafting the "Guide to CSR Management of Chemical Fiber Industry".
