Quanzhou to Forge a Strong Textile and Shoe-making Machinery Industry

The local government of Quanzhou in Fujian Province is acting as match-maker to promote the collaboration along the industry chain. One of the efforts is to promote the collaboration of textile and shoe-making machinery manufacturers with textile producers and shoe makers, so as to complete the local industry chain and promote win-win cooperation.


Related figures show that local textile and shoe-making machinery industry realized an industrial output of CNY 3.48 billion in 2013. Meanwhile, as the number one pillar industry, textile and shoe-making industry plays more and more important role among local industries. With more than 10,000 production enterprises, it has established a relatively complete industry chain. In 2013, this sector generated an industrial output of CNY 317.1 billion. "Facing stronger competition on market, enterprises are accelerating transform and upgrading and they have increasing need for automatic and intelligent production equipment", said responsible person concerned. He said, adapting to the need of local textile, shoes and garment industry will be the key task for local machinery and equipment industry.


Inspired by the demand of local textile and shoe-making industry, the textile and shoe-making machinery industry in Quanzhou has developed a number of customized textile machinery products and many of them, including circular knitting machine, flat-screen printing machine and computer-based embroidery machine, are sold well both at home and abroad. Local-made shoe-making machinery can basically meet local demand.


The local government allocates every year a special fund of CNY 20 million to support the machinery and equipment industry in terms of technological innovation, market exploitation, talent cultivation and public service, etc.
