China’s import and export of fabric totaled near US$ 7.86 billion in the first two months of 2014, down 4.12% year-on-year. The export amounted to US$ 6.89 billion, down 4.26%, 4.79 billion meters, down 6.73%, at an average price of CNY 1.44/meters, up 2.65%; the import of fabric amounted to US$ 968 million, down 3.13%.

The export of fabric dropped dramatically in February. The export to Asia amounted to US$ 999 million, down 37.41% year-on-year, in which, the export to Bangladesh, the Philippines and UAE dropped by 65.36%, 62.37% and 59.38% respectively; the export to EU dropped by 31.04%, in which, the export to UK, Belgium and Italy dropped by 39.88%, 37.77% and 34.67% respectively; the export to Central and South America dropped by 46.86%, in which, the export to Mexico, Argentina and Chile dropped by 57.28%, 57.14% and 52.56% respectively; the export to Africa dropped by 37.59%, in which, the export to South Africa, Nigeria and Egypt dropped by 57.17%, 44.55% and 38.15% respectively.
