Hebei: Export of Garment Surge 14.9% in January-August

In January-August of this year, the export of garment and accessories from Hebei Province amounted to US$ 2.46%, accounting for 12% of the province's total export value, up 14.9% year-on-year, said Shijiangzhuang Customs.


Non-state-owned enterprises are main exporters. In the first eight months, the export of garment from non-state-owned enterprises (including collective-run enterprises, private firms and individual business) amounted to US$ 1.99 billion, up 22.5%, accounting for 81% of the total export value; export from foreign-funded enterprises stood at US$ 420 million, down 11.8%; and the export from state-owned enterprises amounted to US$ 51.67 million, up 23.3%.


The garment are exported to 149 countries and regions, while Russia, EU and the United States are top three destinations which account for 72% of the total export. Fur and leather garment are mainly exported to Russia. The export to Russia in January-August period grew sharply by 47.2% to US$ 870 million, accounting for 1/3 of the total export value.
