Export of Garment Grow 13.4% in January-August

According to the General Administration of the Customs, China exported US$ 70.1 billion worth of textile yarn, fabric and made-up goods in January-August period of this year, up 12.2% year-on-year, and meanwhile, it also exported US$ 112.8 billion worth of garment and accessories, up 13.4%. The export of textile yarn, fabric and made-up goods in August amounted to US$ 9.4 billion and that of garment and accessories US$ 18.7 billion.


In January-August of this year, China's import of textile-purpose synthetic fibers totaled 250,000 tons, up 15.2% year-on-year and up 11.3% in value term and the import of synthetic fiber yarn totaled 265,000 tons, down 3.6% and up 0.2% in value term. The import of textile-purpose synthetic fibers and synthetic fiber yarn in August stood respectively at 30,000 tons and 31,000 tons, valued at US$ 100 million and US$ 160 million.
