Updated: 8/21/2013 3:59:44 PM

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicized a list of 1,432 enterprises which are required to shut down obsolete production capacities before the end of this September. These companies which cover 19 industries include 132 printing and dyeing enterprises.

The State Council, China's cabinet, released a document in 2010 targeting the elimination of outdated capacities.

The companies in the list are the first batch of enterprises required to do so. They are asked to permanently remove the obsolete production capacities by the end of this year and not to relocate their outdate capacities to other regions.

The aim of eliminating outdated capacities is to speed up transformation of economic development and boost industrial upgrading, energy saving and emission reduction.
