According to the statistics of General Administration of the Customs, China imported 345,800 tons of cotton in May, a decrease of 85,100 tons by 19.75% month-on-month and down 155,400 tons by 31% year-on-year.

From September 2012 to May 2013, China's cotton import totaled 3.51 million tons, a drop of 739,200 tons by 17.38% from a year earlier. The cotton import in January-May period of this year totaled 2.14 million tons, a drop of 435,600 tons by 16.9% year-on-year.
