According to Hubei Economic and Information Technology Commission, 10 textile industrial clusters in Hubei Province are selected as "Key Growing Industrial Clusters" and will share CNY 100 million bonus.
The 10 industrial clusters are Wuhan Huangpi District Garment Industrial Cluster, Huangshi Garment Industrial Cluster, Xiangyang Fancheng District Textile Industrial Cluster, Jingzhou Shashi District Knitted Goods and Garment Industrial Cluster, Zhijiang Aomei Medical Textiles Industrial Cluster, Hanchuang Textile and Garment Industrial Cluster, Yingshan County Cocoon Silk Industrial Cluster, Xianning Xian’an District Ramie Textile Industrial Cluster, Chibi Textile and Garment Industrial Cluster and Xiantao Pengchang Nonwoven Fabric Industrial Cluster.
Since 2008, Hubei Province began to select "Key Growing Industrial Cluster" once every year and allocate at least CNY 100 million to reward and support these industrial clusters.
The 10 selected industrial clusters have made great contribution to the society. For example, Hanchuan Textile Industrial Cluster has been growing rapidly over the past few years, pushing forward the development of related industries and injecting fresh blood to local economy. In 2011, this industrial cluster gathered together 159 above-scale enterprise and turned over CNY 150 million of taxes. Yingshan County, once a poverty-stricken county, has made great efforts to developing cocoon silk industry. The cluster connects thousands of silkworm-breeding households and many trading and manufacturing enterprises, offers more than 100,000 job opportunities, contributes more than CNY 80 billion to local finance and brings about CNY 1 billion of income to local farmers. It played important role in helping local farmers to cast off poverty and become better off.
