Xinjiang – the largest cotton planting region in China – has entered into cotton picking season. This year, the cotton planting area in Xinjiang is more than 1.6 million hectares, an increase of about 44,000 hectares compared to last year. The total cotton output is expected to reach 3.2 million tons, nearly half of Chinas total cotton production.
