Mr. Li Yizhong, the Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said on a national working conference that in 2009 China will vigorously promote the implementation of new policies that has been issued to encourage and support enterprises´ independent innovation, especially in raw materials, equipment, consumer goods, and telecommunication field. In the area of consumer goods, the development of high-tech functional fiber and differential fiber, industrial textiles, and high value-added light industry products will be given more priority, according to the Minister.
