Jiangsu Port exported 250 million US dollars worth of textiles and garments in Jan-Feb of 2009 (04/03/2009)

According to the statistics by Nanjing Customs, the textiles and garments exported via Jiangsu Port during the first two months of 2009 amounted to 250 million US dollars, down 19.4 percent compared with the same period last year. The exports in February totaled 93.33 million US dollars, down 40.8 percent from a month earlier, and hit lowest monthly level since the beginning of 2008. The European Union, Japan and the US remained as the major export destinations, together accounting for 58.1 percent of the total exports. In terms of value, Jiangsu Port exported 57.63 million US dollars worth of textiles and garments to the European Union, 47.15 million US dollars to Japan and 40.90 million US dollars to the US in Jan. to Feb..
