Shangdong Textile Industry Association emphasizes recently a series of technological transformation in its textile sector during year 2009:

1. To produce high-grade combed yarn, new types of spinning machinery will be used for cotton spinning, such as blowing-carding, combing, compact spinning, automatic rotor spinning, and air-jet spinning machines. The lagged equipments like carding, combing and ring spinning machines will be phased out.

2. High-end computer jacquard, computer-controlled flat knitting and circler knitting machines will be adopted in replace of traditional equipments to build production line of high-grade knitted T shirt.

3. High-end air-jet looms, rapier looms and projectile looms will be used for the construction of weaving, dyeing and printing production line for high-grade home textile products, while traditional shuttle looms will be washed out. Besides, the province plans to adopt new clean production technology and thoroughly do away with backward equipment.

4. To use eco-friendly technology and equipments, and high-end looms (air-jet loom, rapier loom and projectile loom) for building the production line of high-grade denim and yarn-dyed fabric.

5. For the production of high-grade simulation fabrics the industry will use advanced looms and new type fiber.

6. To design and produce high-grade men & women suits, enterprises will adopt advanced garment processing equipments like computer typesetting system and plate-making equipments, automatic cutting machines, computer-sewing machines and three-dimensional ironing machines.

And thus the following new-type textile machinery are expected to be displayed by foreign suppliers, according to Shandong Textile Industry Association:

1.New type machines of blowing-carding, combing, compact spinning, automatic rotor spinning, and air-jet spinning;
2.New automatic winding machines, new online detection equipments, warping and sizing machines , electromechanical integration equipments like air-jet loom, rapier loom and projectile loom;
3.New eco-friendly dyeing and finishing machines for extra width fabrics;
4.New type computer jacquard, computer-controlled flat knitting and circler knitting machines
5.New typesetting and plate-making equipments, sewing and ironing machines.
