Chinese textile fibre spins success story in India(07/07/2006)

Updated: 7/7/2006 9:19:00 AM

Textile fibre exports from China have received tremendous response from Indian clothing enterprises.

During the last four years, textile fibre export from China to India recorded 33 percent increase as the product finds application in the booming Indian household decoration markets.

Moreover, price of Chinese fibre is low compared to Indian fibres; local manufacturers are not able to meet with huge orders of Indian clothing enterprises and another important reason is shorter delivery time from China to India.

At the same time, Indian manufacturers have failed to produce special fibre, which is useful in production of quality clothing exported to the US and European countries.

Local manufacturers have contributed only four percent of textile and clothing fibre required for Indian clothing business.
