China´s April cotton imports surged to 263,400 tons or 1,209,871 480-pound bales, up 23.53 percent from March and 22.5 percent from a year ago. Total September 2007 through April 2008 cotton imports increased 18.74 percent to 1,588,200 tons or 7,296,556 480-pound bales.
