An energetic atmosphere and constant activity: the latest session, held from 19 to 22 September 2006, was very positive for the Première Vision Pluriel salons (Expofi l, Première Vision, Le Cuir à Paris, Indigo and Mod’Amont).
A large number of buyers came, attracted by an offer that was richer than ever from a notably increased number of exhibitors. In an area of more than 120,000m2, 1,507 exhibitors (against 1,473 in September 2005) presented their collections for the autumn/winter 2007-2008 fashion season.
As for the exhibitors, they emphasised the quality of the visitors came to their stands. Designers, manufacturers and specifi ers from more than 100 countries came to Paris for information, to make their choices among the collections and to place orders.
This session confi rmed the appeal of the fi ve salons that make up Première Vision Pluriel, an ensemble without equivalent anywhere in the world for the fashion profession.
Première Vision / Expofi l:
ever more attractive to the major export markets
Following the success of the new organisation set up in February 2006, Première Vision and Expofi l continue to develop a complementary offer with high added value from their exhibitors.
By the end of the session, the two salons recorded an attendance of nearly 45,000 visits, evenly
spaced over the four days.
September 2006 showed a slight drop of 3.4% compared with September 2005 (and an
increase of 2.1% compared with February 2006).
Visits from European countries were, on the whole, constant, although there were some notable
results: the United Kingdom (+7%), Portugal (+23%), Belarus (+20%) and the Ukraine (+14%).
With 27% of participation, the major export countries continue to make progress. Noting an
increase of visitors from China (+19%), India (+55%) and even the antipodes, with attendance
from Australia up by 13%.
Among the innovations and events this session, which presented the collections of nearly 800
exhibitors for autumn/winter 07-08, three stood out particularly in the opinion of visitors:
• The Fashion Trail, designed to help visitors to get the best out of the Fashion Information, is one of Première Vision’s strengths, recognised for its pertinence and the exceptional quality of its staging. The colourful guide leads the visitor via 11 essential stages to some 5,200 m2 devoted to Fashion Information across the two exhibitions.
• “L’Apéro Philo”, the round table discussion on the subject of Erik Orsenna’s book, “Voyage aux pays du coton” (Journey to the Land of Cotton), brought together key speakers who discussed the issues concerning the international cotton market paying particular attention to economic and human stakes.
(An account of the debate was published in the Thursday 21 September edition of the Première Vision newspaper and is available on line via the Première Vision site, www.premierevision.fr,see Salon Newspaper).
• PV Down Town, for three consecutive nights, this was the place to relax in a congenial, party atmosphere aboard a boat moored right in the heart of Paris and hundreds of professionals were drawn to it.
