The PCI Consulting Group is holding "The Fibres & Raw Materials Conference" at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hong Kong (Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Hong Kong) on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 November 2006.
This conference has replaced the "Singapore" conference that we have successfully co-sponsored for the past 10 years. Therefore there are two changes taking place with the PCI Consulting Group now 100% responsible for the organisation and running of the event and a change of venue, with a move to Hong Kong.
The 2005 conference was a great success with strong representation from all regions and sectors within the polyester and intermediates industry. The timing of this year´s conference is particularly significant as it comes at a time of rapid market adjustment and PCI will have 15 consultants at the conference providing in-depth analysis of past, present and future:
a.. Crude oil continues to demonstrate extreme volatility, having hit record highs in 2006, yet falling over $15/barrel in past weeks
b.. Polyester and intermediates prices have risen sharply since April yet are now falling as raw materials begin a painful adjustment
c.. Polyester growth is forecast to rise from 41.9 million tonnes in 2006 to 51.4 million tonnes by 2009
d.. PTA capacity in China alone will see the addition of 6 million tonnes between 2006-2009
e.. World Paraxylene capacity will rise by 6 million tonnes from 2006-2009
To date we have almost 110 attendees registered for the conference already and hope that you will able to join them to hear a wide range of presentations and discussions covering the full range of fibres and raw materials, together with papers on the economic outlook for China, trade issues and new polyester product developments.
