According to the latest customs statistics, China’s textile machinery imports amounted to US $1.55 billion in January to April 2007, an increase of 33.4 percent over the same period of last year, still presenting a strong growth trend.
Comparing with the same period in 2006, imports of all textile machinery and spare parts indicated varying degrees of growth in quantity and value, of which, the imports of felt manufacturing and finishing machines grew substantially.
However, the imports of chemical fiber machinery, industrial sewing machines and sewing machine needle were exceptional.
