The September NCMMS Survey of Spinners reveals that the average cotton inventory position has further declined to only 31.47 days of consumption, which represents a four-day reduction from the August survey. Mill inventories are also at their tightest level since September 2006, with Henan and Shanghai mills holding the largest inventories. Mill inventories in Shandong have now dropped to below 30 days.
