CCA Places Crop at 7.64 Million Tons (10/25/2007)

The China Cotton Association (CCA) has forecast the 2007 cotton crop at 7.64 million tons, down 60,000 tons from its August estimate. The association cited reduced production in the provinces Gansu, Shaanxi, Hebei and Shandong. The estimates remain above most private estimates, which are closer to the 7.0 to 7.2 million-ton level.
