Textile Prices Weaken in Week Ending October 28, 2007 (11/05/2007)

China´s textile prices continue under pressure. As measured by the China Textile Index, which is prepared by the Ministry of Commerce, domestic textile prices declined 1.69 percent during week ending October 28. The weakest sectors were grey fabrics, falling 3.69 percent and apparel fabrics, dropping 2.12 percent. Raw material and home textile prices were only marginally lower, while the accessories index rose 1.00 percent. The new index is published weekly and is now at the lowest level since week ending September 24.
