Spunlaced nonwovens production in China reached record high in year 2008 (05/08/2009)

Despite the economic difficulties that China had encountered in year 2008, China´s nonwovens industry still witnessed a continuous growth in production. According to data surveyed by China Nonwovens Technical Association the spunlaced nonwovens production in China reached a record high of 155,000 tons in year 2008, an increase of 31.3 percent over 2007. Zhejiang province led the country´s spunlanced nonwovens manufacturers with the output of 80,000 tons, holding 51.6 percent of the total, followed by Liaoning, Jiangsu, Fujiang, Henan. During the same period, the spunbond nonwovens production grew by 21.53 percent to 847,300 tons and meltblown nonwovens amounted to 23,800 tons.
