China´s State Council last week unveiled a detailed three-year support plan for the textile industry to ensure stable development in the sector and upgrade its structure. The plan said China textile industry was expected to realize 1.2 trillion yuan (176 billion US dollars) in industrial added value by 2011 with annual growth rate of 10 percent; export value were expected to grow 8 percent annually during the period to 240 billion US dollars by 2011. The country would also do more to eliminate obsolete capacity, reduce energy consumption and increase efficiency in the textile industry.
