Fujian province witnesses rapid growth in its textile industry over the past years and has developed a complete supply chain ranging from chemical fibers, cotton spinning, weaving, dyeing & printing, nonwovens, industrial textiles, home textiles, garment & accessories, and textile machinery. Statistics from Fujian Provincial Economics and Trade Commission showed that the above-scale textile enterprises in Fujian province achieved a total industrial output value of 189.88 billion yuan (27.80 billion US dollars) in 2008, up 15.8 percent year-on-year, and it generated total sales revenue of 184 billion yuan, up 16.8 percent compared to the previous year, while good delivered for export climbed only 6.3 percent to 45.67 billion yuan, due to the global financial crisis.
