Zhoucun, Zibo of Shandong Province, recently invested 820 million yuan in 12 key projects to develop the silk textile industry in this area. The region reputed as "China Silk Town" and "China Textile Industry Base", has over 800 silk textile enterprises which employ more than 20 thousand workers. Its silk product output accounts for over one third of Shandong province, and 95 percent are exported. The 820 million yuan will be invested in 2009-2010 to establish 12 projects including denim upgrading and reforming, wide-breadth silk jacquard weaving, China Technological Textile City, and 100 direct-sales brand shops.
