China´s import & export of textiles and garments in the first four months (07/13/2009)

Chinese customs data showed the country´s import & export of textiles and garments totaled 52.68 billion US dollars in the first four months of 2009, down 10.74 percent, and accounting for 8.79 percent of China´s total trade value. The export value was 47.78 billion US dollars with a year-on-year decrease of 10.16 percent, of which, textile exports totaled 18.3 billion US dollars, down 15.29 percent; garment exports amounted to 29.42 billion US dollars, down 6.63 percent year-on-year. The imports was 4.89 billion US dollars with a year-on-year decrease of 16.01 percent, of which, 4.33 billion US dollars worth of textiles were imported, down 15.43 percent; while garments imports totaled 568 million US dollars, down 20.14 percent year-on-year.
