China´s chemical fiber output in the first five months of 2009 (07/10/2009)

Updated: 7/10/2009 1:26:00 PM

In January-May period of 2009, 10.41 million tons of chemical fibers were produced nationwide, a growth of 7.8 percent over the year-ago level, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed. In May only the output totaled 2.39 million tons, up 7.71 percent compared with the April figure, or growing 18 percent year-on-year. The rebound can be ascribed to the policies of expanding domestic demand and maintaining steady growth, and to oil price upsurge as well as mounting cotton price.
