At the promotion conference of "ITMA ASIA + CITME2010", Mr. Gao Yong, vice president of China National Textile & Apparel Council (CNTAC) said that China´s exports of textile and apparel were difficult to witness a sharp rebound this year, he wished the decline could be smaller. However, he also believed that China´s textile machinery market was expected to "pick up from the bottom."
According to Mr. Gao Yong, most products of China´s textile industry have achieved growth in production since this year; yarn, chemical fiber and garment have realized a single digit growth except fabrics. But from January to April this year, due to serious shrinkage of international market, especially in the European market, China´s exports of textile and apparel declined by more than 10 percent. He believes that China´s exports of textile and apparel are difficult to give a sharp rebound this year.
Affected by the textile industry, output value of textile machinery industry also declined, but the industry showed signs of warm-up in April and May this year as sales of some products increased. Mr. Gao judges that Chinese textile machinery market is expected to reach bottom and pick up the end of this year.
"ITMA ASIA + CITME2010" exhibition will be held in Shanghai on June 22 next year, and this is a "flagship exhibition on textile machinery in Asia" jointly created by Chinese and the European textile machinery industries. Gao Yong hopes that current warmer trend of Chinese textile machinery industry will play a good role in promoting the exhibition.
