Central Bank: the Financial Market Operated Steadily with Fluidity Generally Sufficient in the First Five Months (07/06/2009)

The Operation Status of the Financial Market in May released by the Central Bank here indicated that in the first five months, China´s financial market generally operated steadily with the market fluidity sufficient in general.

Central Bank stated that in May, the circulation of market bonds among Chinese banks slightly reduced, with the circulation of long-term bonds increasing. The market fluidity was sufficient in general, the interest rate of currency market maintained the low operation, and inter-bank borrowing and the amount of stock repurchase both rose. The amount of the present ticket transactions slightly declined, China interbank bond indexand and government bond index of exchanges continued with a slight rise, and the yield curve of government bonds declined on the whole. In May, the stock market index was continuously robust, with the daily transaction volume slightly reducing.
