Updated: 7/29/2009 4:51:00 PM

Qingdao’s last 224 shuttle looms stopping production in the mills of Qingdao Textile Group at the end of June indicates that the city’s textile industry is entering into a new era—the so-called ‘shuttleless age’ – during which advanced shuttleless weaving technology will completely replace the traditional shuttle looms. The industrial upgrade of Qindao textile industry starting as of year 2006 was aimed to enhance production capability of local textile enterprises by speeding up the elimination of lagged machines and widely adopting advanced technology and machines.
