The first eight months of Ningxia region(one of the major autonomous regions of PRC) have witnessed overall textile industry output value reaching up to RMB3.69 billion, increased by 6% year-on-year. Industrial added value totaled RMB1.367 billion, increased by 20.03% year-on-year along with profits reaching up to RMB190 million, increased by 11.41%. Under an astringent situation where market demand keeps drooping, Ningxia has successfully realized a steady increase of both manufacturing and profits.

In the year 2008, over-scale textile companies of Ningxia region have accomplished an overall industry output value of RMB6.2 billion, increased by 19.47% year-on-year. Industrial added value totaled RMB2.39 billion, increased by 21.33% year-on-year along with profits reaching up to RMB379 million, increased by 21.33%.

Ningxia region has found out an effective way of industry development featuring cashmere as the pivotal nexus forming a complete manufacturing industrial chain. There are currently more than ninety cashmere manufacturing companies with 34 over-scale companies and two industrial park have been built. Cashmere industry has now become a major support for local textile industry.
