output: 234.66 billion RMB
China knitting industry growth maintains an average 14% annual growth during the time period of early 2005 to 2008. Since after 2009, industry growth drooped all the way down to lower than 10% and kept declining. The first eight months of 2009 has seen an estimated output value reaching up to 234.66 billion RMB, increased by 7.61% compared with the year 2008 while the growth magnitude dropped by 7.44%.

Output: 9.65 billion articles
From January to September, over 9.65 billion articles of knitting garments were manufactured by above-scale companies, increased by 5.51% year-on-year. Guangdong, Shandong and Zhejiang are taking up 60.8% of overall national output. Also the first nine months have seen overall garment output 16.96 billion articles, increased by 4.99% year-on-year despite the international market slump.

Sales Revenue: 222.77 billion RMB
Consolidated sales revenue of knitting industry of the first eight months reached 222.77 billion RMB, increased by 6.74% as contrast to last year while the growth magnitude dropped by 9.11%.

Investment: 20.09 billion RMB
Investment exerted a significant function in the midst of global economic downturn. Investment growth of knitting industry hit the record lowest level for the first three months of 2009. In April, thanks to the positive financial and monetary policies from the central government, investment began to pickup until September reaching the highest investment level of history 19.45%.

Export: 38.75 billion dollars
Export situation kept deteriorating until September this year although the declining magnitude shrunk to a certain extent. Consolidated knitting garments export value of the first nine months reached 38.75 billion dollars, down by 10.85% compared with last year. Primary exported countries are Japan, USA and Hongkong.

Profit: 7.38 billion RMB
Profit declining tendency was gradually held back until August this year. Overall profit income of knitting industry for the first eight months reached 7.38 billion RMB which is 7.74% increase as contrast to last year and 12 fractions higher than last month.

Deficit percentage: 21.72%
Of all the 7,672 knitting companies, 27.32% were facing loss at the beginning of this year until August the deficit percentage dropped to 21.72%, lower than last year’s 21.93%.
