Deputy minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei stated at the nationwide industrial energy conservation and integrated utilization working conference on January 14 that in 2010, China will take energy conservation and consumption reduction and emission reduction and pollution treatment as the important move to adjust industrial structure and transformation of development mode and focus on advancing such four aspects of work as evaluation of energy conservation in investment projects, guiding opinions for key trades in energy conservation and emission reduction, industrial energy efficiency to the standard compliance and enterprise energy management and objectives of the responsibility.

Miao said the establishment of industrial fixed assets investment projects assessment and review of energy-saving system is a fundamental measure in the source for the new industrial projects on the energy consumption of the entry to curb high energy, high-polluting industries’ blind and excessive growth aw well as one important move for industrial and information technology departments to practically exert the functions in industrial energy conservation and consumption reduction.
