An instructional Independent Innovation Guidance on Major Equipment Engineering was recently jointly released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance and State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration of the State Council. 12 types of highlighted textile machinery were listed in the Guidance.

Special subsidies and favorable policies would be preferentially offered to the companies conducting the research and development of the listed machinery types. Ensued by the successful development of all these textile machinery, government-prioritized procurement could be enjoyed.

All listed equipments in the Guide were urgently needed by national economy construction and severely dependent on exportation. Chemical fiber manufacturing, weaving and nonwoven fabric manufacturing lines were the most encouraged pinpointed areas and machinery types. Major breakthroughs in areas such as biaxial warp knitting machines, high-efficiency rapier weaving machines are expected before 2012 to lay solid ground works in order to catch up with internationally-advanced levels.
