As both parties’ trade exchanges and economic cooperation are increasingly being strengthened, ASEAN has become Guizhou’s largest trade partner.
It was known by the reporter from the Commerce Department of Guizhou Province that in recent years, the province seizes the opportunity of the official implementation of the Agreement on Trade in Goods of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area to have practically strengthened the economic cooperation with ASEAN’s ten member states. From 2007 to 2009, the import and export of the province and ASEAN countries amounted to USD430m, USD590m and USD400m, accounting for 18.8%, 17.6% and 17.3% of the provincial total import and export respectively. From January to February this year, the import and export of the province to ASEAN stood at USD104m, up 75.53% year-on-year.
