China´s Ministry of Environmental Protection has recently approved the construction of a PTA program of Jiaxing Petrochemical with an annual output of 800 thousand tons. Jiaxing Petrochemical is a single proprietorship of Zhejiang Tongkun Group. This program includes the primary and auxiliary production equipment viz. oxidation module and refinement module as well as the utility system construction. Total investment involves 3.3 billion yuan covering an area of 112 acres with two years of construction cycle and 50 years of operation period. The successful settlement of this gigantic program could effectively relieve the raw material supplying pressure of the Yangtze River Delta area.
