Guangdong province strongly promotes the process of the Pearl River Delta integration. In 2009, the variation coefficient of development in the province narrowed 0.03 percentage points, with the effects of the three large economic circles of Guangzhou-Foshan-Zhaoqing, Shenzhen-Dongguan-Huizhou and Zhuhai-Zhongshan-Jiangmen strongly built preliminarily apparent and the coordination of regional development beefed up.

At the working meeting on carrying out and implementing the Planning Program on the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta on May 26, executive vice governor of Guangdong province Zhu Xiaodan introduced that the process of the Pearl River Delta integration is apparently speeding up and the plan of five integrations of infrastructures, industrial layout, urban and rural planning, public service and environment protection has been formulated with the same-city of Guangzhou and Foshan as demonstration. Simultaneously, the effect of the above-mentioned three big economic circles being strongly built has preliminary showed up.
