NDRC: National Economy Continues Moving in the Expected Direction of Macro Regulation and Control (08/31/2010)

Director of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) Zhang Ping stated on August 26 that in terms of the main economic indicators in the first 7 months, the national economy is moving in the expected direction of macro regulation and control, with the overall national economy in good shape. Based on preliminary calculation, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first half of the year rose 11.1% year-on-year.

Zhang said at the 16th session of the standing committee of the 11th National People’s Congress while reporting the implementation of economic and social development that from the beginning of this year, the situation of agricultural production has been generally stable with industrial growth declining dramatically.
