12th Five Year Plan for Textile Industry to be Rolled Out (11/29/2010)

2010 is the last implementation year of the 11th Five Year Plan (FYP) for China´s textile industry and also the second year to implement the Textile Industry Adjustment and Rejuvenation Plan. The 28 key technologies and 10 new complete set of pivotal equipments proposed in the 11th FYP have undoubtedly motivated the industrial upgrade and technological improvement over the past years.

November 19, the National Textile Science and Technology Conference will be kicked off in Beijing. Technology achievements will be summarized and the new 12th FYP will by then be rolled out.

Amongst all the key technologies proposed in the 11th FYP, 11 of which related with the new material and advanced production techniques, 5 were traditional production process upgrade throughout new hi-tech approaches, 8 were about bio-friendly textiles and energy-saving items, 4 related with textile industry IT constructions. 10 complete sets of pivotal equipments were also highlighted. All these could be illustrated as "28+10". The new 12th FYP, according to Mr. Xu Kunyuan, vice president of China National Textile and Apparel Council, could be referred to as "50+110", which include 50 key textile technology programs and 110 items of viable programs involving new production techniques, latest technologies and equiments.

Multifaceted aspects including principal theory study, new fiber material application, advanced spinning and weaving technology, bio-friendly and energy-saving programs are all incorporated. Energy-saving and emission-reduction programs are the most underlined programs with which 18 key programs encapsulated in the 12th FYP are directly correlated.
