In the January-October period of this year, while the gross industrial output value of major textile enterprises in Xinjiang dropped year-on-year, the output value of the garment sector rose moderately.
In the first ten months, major textile enterprises in Xinjiang realized a gross industrial output of CNY 17.20 billion, dropped about CNY 2.48 billion by 12.59% from a year earlier. The breakdown by sector shows, the gross industrial output of the textile sector stood at CNY 9.62 billion, down CNY 590 million by 5.78% from a year earlier; the chemical fiber sector CNY 7.27 billion, down CNY 1.90 billion by 20.77%; the made-up goods and garment sector CNY 308 billion, up CNY 17 million by 6.02%. In the same period, the value added of the local textile industry amounted to CNY 3.15 billion, up 10.42%. in the same period, the value added of the textile sector stood at CNY 2.05 billion, up 12.9% year-on-year; the chemical fiber sector CNY 1.02 billion, up 9.9% and the made-up goods and garment sector CNY 79 million, down 30.1%.
In January-October, major textile enterprises earned a profit of CNY 372 million. The chemical fiber sector and the made-up goods and garment sector enjoyed year-on-year growth. Among 101 enterprises, 61 are loss-makers, an increase of 12 compared with the first-half year. The prime business revenue of major textile enterprises amounted to CNY 16.48 billion, down 15.06% compared with the same period of last year.
